Ochozuike (Pond)

This is a dried pond measuring 2m in diameter and 1m deep. It has been said that water came out when Sotetsu Meiho was cremated in Taheiji Village. People in the village valued this pond thinking that the God of Mt. Hakusan came to clean his hands there. Later, it is said, a person in the village who was trying to take a drink of the water accidently dropped a pail of excrement into the water, and the pond dried up.
